The Two Faces of the EU: Between Reform and Resistance

  • Amerikahaus Munich 3 Karolinenplatz München, BY, 80333 Germany (map)

Join the YSC for it’s anniversary conference as we celebrate 5 years of bringing together young security enthusiasts to envision the future of European Security and Transatlantic Cooperation.

In the upcoming YSC 2024, attention will be directed towards the lack of commitment among European Union (EU) member states to the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP). Participants will delve into historical, political, and institutional factors that shape national priorities in foreign and security policy. The aim is to uncover how these factors impede robust engagement with the CFSP and hinder the development of a more unified EU Foreign Policy.

From geopolitical shifts following Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, and the EU's institutional expansions, the YSC will thoroughly explore recent events. These discussions will set the stage for a deeper understanding of the fundamental core interests of EU member states.
